Demure heels for Spring? I’m imagining ditsy flower frocks, after-shopping tea, and these slingbacks.
Spazzolato tote. It’s everywhere in the Prada campaign ads, and the styling made it look totally elegant and crave-worthy vs. cheap-looking, tie-dyed and plastic, which was my initial reaction.
This shit is sold out EVERYWHERE, for 25cm and 30cm. The pink ostrich looks even prettier, but I can’t even get a picture of that one because it is sold out EVERYWHERE. From USD13,000 and above, why am I even bothering??
Almost bought these supposedly ‘classic’ Tod’s pumps, in white patent with black lining. I guess I was channeling a nurse that day or something. Close call!
Where where whereeeee???
Wanted: Capezio Freedoms, inside black shoe bag with Citi logo.
Reward: aaaah I don’t know I can’t think of anything but my missing shoes right now!!

I’m supposed to take in the arts and culture at the Tate Modern today before visiting Knightsbridge for chi-chi Harrods shopping. But I’m seriously tempted to pass on Tate and go straight to Knightsbridge. Hur Hur.
Why I should go to Tate Modern:
1. It’s free
2. I will enrich myself with arts and culture
Why I shouldn’t go to Tate Modern:
1. It’s a 30-minute walk from here
2. I can just google up pictures of the more popular paintings and sculptures, and pass on the boring ones
Decisions, decisions… This is one minus point for being a Libran, you always have to weigh out the alternatives and confuse yourself in the end. Sigh. I had a decision to make at H&M yesterday – buy a bretton stripe dress or a bretton stripe skirt. I couldn’t decide because the skirt can be worn to work, yet the dress is a nice day dress for the weekend. So I bought both. Dope!
But this time around I can’t possibly both go to Tate Modern and not go to Tate Modern. Hmmmmmmmmm.

It’s been a pretty productive few days ever since I stepped off the plane (Emirates, the service and smells were better for the second leg of the journey Dubai – London vs. first leg Sing – Dubai). I slept for most of Friday, trying to acclimatize to the weather (5 deg for day, possibly near 0 at night, plus wind it is literally breath-taking) (speaking of which, why would someone describe something awesome as ‘breathtaking’? There’s nothing nice about feeling like you can’t breathe, especially when you experience the breathtaking sensation while walking past the London Eye surrounded by buskers who tout ‘ni hao’s in a semi-racist way).
Saturday was spent walking to Pret to get takeaway breakfast, eating that takeaway breakfast while reading Gossip Girl, taking the tube to Oxford Street to fulfill my Uniqlo fantasies, and then we had window-shopping at Zara done as well as dinner at 1997 and some casino-visiting. I’m trying to grow some balls this weekend so I can play the cash tables during weeknights – blinds are 1/2 quid, equivalent to 2/5 games back home I suppose, although each table have different volatility dynamics. It’s Sunday night now and last time I checked, no balls yet. But I WILL make it a point to play at least for one night!
Sunday was walking to ‘Bucks (!!!!!!!!!) to get takeaway breakfast, eating that takeaway breakfast while reading Gossip Girl (side note: lemon and poppy seed muffin – isn’t poppy used to make drugs? Maybe I was semi-high from the muffin the whole day and did not realise). We walked to Chinatown for some dim sum lovin’, checked out the Zara at Covent Garden, and then some studying back home. I’m getting more headway with CFA level 2 (1.5 chapters) here than back home (not a single book cracked open).
Still have Primark and H&M to cross off my list. And awaiting books from Amazon.co.uk! Apparently my blog entries have been revolving around shopping lately. Sigh… What to do? I am an empty husk of material purchases and big poker talk after all (although soon to be loaded with CFA L2 knowledge yeah baby!) (oh, and Gossip Girl developments. OMG what is up with that Nate, just pick Blair over Serena already!)
I picked up one of the Gossip Girl books I bought ages ago for some dinner reading. One of the most calming moments I have is reading while slowly eating. But this time, a little niggle bit into me and I couldn’t really get into it. The niggle grew into a wiggle, and then into a diggle… I just had to get to the bottom of it.
Niggle: Where are all my Gossip Girl books?
I have all the books in the series and couldn’t recall who I lent the books to, but I distinctly remembered doing an inventory check at one point and asking for all the books back. That was two years ago though, and now I could only see 4 books scattered all around.
Instead of starting to pack for the London trip, I turned my room inside out to find the other 7 books in the series, to no avail. My apartment isn’t big, so the fact that these books are around somewhere just ate me to death.
I then rooted around my bro’s room (previously a temporary storage area), but all the containers were packed with his toys. Pulled the drawers of my study table, nada. Went through all the boxes along the narrow corridor and found 3 GG books along with my favourite book of all time – Howl’s Moving Castle – and a few other novels which I could recall buying but not reading. My dad must’ve been nosy while I was away and packed the hodge-podge of books together in my absence.
I still can’t find the other 4 GG books (this will haunt me forever). They can’t go missing alone, must be in a box somewhere with other books of mine, which means I have books I can’t remember owning which are currently missing.
I NEED A FRIGGIN’ LIBRARY!
And a catalogue to record all the books I have. I swear I have a growing hill of books at the base of my bed which I hadn’t bothered to put away nicely since there is no space. Also a stack of books on the floor. The rest of the books are scattered: in 2 boxes, in the cupboard attached to my study table, and possibly in other nooks and crannies of the house.
Anyway, I’ve ordered for replacements of the missing GG books to be delivered, but they just won’t be the same. Once I’m back from London I’ll have to do massive detective work to solve the Case of the Missing Teen Novels.
